Hue builds boardwalk along Huong River

According to a new proposal of officials in the central province of Thua Thien Hue, a new promenade will be built along the romantic Huong River in Hue. The work is expected to start in July 2016.

The boardwalk project values US$6-million and is funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). It will include a four-meter wide wooden walkway projecting into the river in its most beautiful section between Truong Tien Bridge and Hue Central Hospital. In addition, the 380-meter long walkway will be in a tourism zone including Ly Tu Trong Park, a tourist quay and the Nguyen Dinh Chieu walking street. Particularly, the local authorities also emphasizes that a restaurant, a coffee shop, a lotus garden and a mini entertainment stage would be built. Nguyen Dinh Chieu will be stone-paved and colorfully decorated with lighting.

The project will take around 10 months to complete. Its details will be demonstrated on the walking street in a few weeks to seek public opinion before the work is finalized.
